How does one choose one university over another when there are so many good ones out there? I wrote in my last post that my nephew has chosen to attend Redlands University. I thought that if my nephew had such difficulty in choosing a college that there are so many others having trouble choosing which university to attend. I am going to make a cheat sheet to help the high school student and their parents narrow down the many choices available. Since my nephew chose Redlands University just recently, I am going to use Redlands University as the default school for this post.
The first step is to decide whether you are looking to just get a degree or if you are looking for a prestigious school to get a bachelors degree. Will you need a good school to offer you the educational experience you need to get a masters degree after your first degree? Then look at whether you want to receive a teaching certificate or a specific degree like a business degree. Do you want to earn a Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Art degree? I have added links to Redlands University to be able to look at the areas that I am mentioning. This makes it easier to connect the questions with pages that can answer your questions.
After you determine what your degree desires are, look at whether or not the school of your choice is a top university. There are websites, magazine articles and other sources that can tell you if your university is a top university. By the way, Redlands University is a top university and a best California University and one stop at their website will explain why it is. Any university that is a source of quality education will be shouting this out all over their website and campus.
That brings us to the last point to make, check out your choices for the university you want to attend and take a moment to ask the students attending the college what they think about the school. If you visit Redlands University, you will find so many happy students pleased with their education.
